- Dusk Till Dawn poker. Whats the story? As they try to reach 10,000 entries for their Grand Prix series we are met with comments like: 'give a guy a bone here' and 'badgering players' and the 'buy in now (please)' these are not exactly statements that instill confidence. And whats more after resorting to posting pictures of the Amazing.
Coming at you in the next few weeks are the Cardiff, Canada, and Ireland legs, before the tour completes a full circle by returning to its spiritual home, Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham.
The Grand Prix Poker Tour Dusk Till Dawn serves as the perfect warm-up to the World Poker Tour UK festival, and gives grassroots players the chance to play for a £250,000 – yes this one is in British pounds not dollars – guaranteed prize pool, a prize pool that has 50 x £550 seats in it that can be used for tournaments such as the upcoming WPT500 and DTD’s monthly Deepstack.
Legalized gambling becomes an institutionalized form of greed.Second, gambling destroys the work ethic.
Unlike previous editions of the Grand Prix, which are two-day events, this season finale is played over three days with a selection of Online Day 1s, Live Day 1s at partner casinos, and Live Day 1s at the excellent DTD.
All Day 1s last for 14 levels, which are 12-minutes long online and 30-minutes long live, with the blinds increasing to 40-minute levels of Day 2 and Day 3.
There are a few notable differences between the Dusk Till Dawn Grand Prix and other legs that have already completed. One of these is the fact the buy-in is £85, which is the current exchange rate for $109; the prize pool is also in pounds and not dollars. However, you can still buy in via a $109 ticket won at partypoker.
Another is it is now possible to buy in on Day 2 for £550. Doing so gives you 200,000 chips, or 100 big blinds because the blinds are rolled back to the 1,000/2,000 level. This gives players more flexibility and also gives them the chance to take one last bite at the £250,000 cherry.
Finally, it is possible to buy into the DTD Grand Prix with cold, hard cash if you choose to play a Day 1 at a partner casino or at Dusk Till Dawn. Turn up with £85 in your back pocket and you’ll be welcomed with open arms by the delightful staff. Please note all winnings are paid into your partypoker account because the vast majority of players in the field will qualify online via the Day 1s or through the $109 tickets tournaments.
Keep one eye on the Live Events tab in the partypoker tournament lobby for satellites, including Golden Chip satellites, for the season-ending Grand Prix Poker Tour at Dusk Till Dawn.
Keep up to date with all things partypoker!
